Will the Xbench 3.0 plugin be updated for Trados Studio 2026?
A new installer for the Xbench plugin for Trados Studio (build 20) has been released which supports Trados Studio 2026. The installer for the plugin can be downloaded in the Downloads page.
In addition, a new Xbench 3,0 build has been released (build 1620) which supports the new Trados Termbase format added in Trados 2026 (file extension .ttd).
A caveat: There is currently a bug in Trados Studio 2026 that might affect the Edit Segment feature. Trados has acknowledged the issue, and according to Trados, it is planned for fixing in the next cumulative update of the Trados Studio 2026 release, which is slated for August September (more info here: Trados Studio 2026: Activating a file already open in the Editor does make it the active file - Studio Developers Q&A - Trados Studio Developers - RWS Community ).
The current workaround for the bug is to open all files in a merged view prior to start using Edit Segment from Xbench (for example by selecting all files in Studio Files view, right-clicking and choosing “Open for Translation/Review/Signoff”, depending on your workflow). We anticipate that once the bug is fixed, this workaround will not be necessary anymore.
