Can Xbench read bilingual documents where the translated segment is below the source segment? So not in two columns.
If you mean a docx or txt file where there is a linebreak or paragraph break between source and target, Xbench cannot read this format.
However, converting text to 2-column table should allow you to copy to a txt file to add it to an Xbench project.
Hi omartin,
Thank you for responding. Yes, that what I meant. Then, how can I convert it to a 2-column table (outside of copy and paste )
You should have source + paragraph break + target + paragraph break.
- Remove duplicate paragraph breaks.
- Select all text in Word.
- Go to Insert > Table > Convert text to table.
- At the Convert text to table window, select 2 columns and Paragraphs at the Separate text at section.
- Click OK.
- At this point, you should have a 2-column table. Select both columns and copy to a txt file.
- Save the txt file and add it to your Xbench project.
