Bilingual documents where the translated segment is below the source segment?

Can Xbench read bilingual documents where the translated segment is below the source segment? So not in two columns.

If you mean a docx or txt file where there is a linebreak or paragraph break between source and target, Xbench cannot read this format.
However, converting text to 2-column table should allow you to copy to a txt file to add it to an Xbench project.

Hi omartin,
Thank you for responding. Yes, that what I meant. Then, how can I convert it to a 2-column table (outside of copy and paste  )

You should have source + paragraph break + target + paragraph break.

  1. Remove duplicate paragraph breaks.
  2. Select all text in Word.
  3. Go to Insert > Table > Convert text to table.
  4. At the Convert text to table window, select 2 columns and Paragraphs at the Separate text at section.
  5. Click OK.
  6. At this point, you should have a 2-column table. Select both columns and copy to a txt file.
  7. Save the txt file and add it to your Xbench project.
