Hi everyone,
I am proofreading a document translated into Spanish that contains a lot of English text, and even some parts in French, due to references to bibliography and article titles that need to stay in English/French
, even if the target language is Spanish. As a result, I get many false hits when doing the QA as Xbench wisely identifies the English text as not correct. Is there any way to overcome that? I would love to read if anyone has ideas on how to avoid so many false hits, or a decent workaround.
Thanks a lot.
Assuming source equals target in all those strings with English/French text, I think the best thing you can do is to filter those segments in your CAT tool, lock them and then exclude locked strings in Xbench QA. This way, spell checker won’t go through all those segments and you’ll get less false positives.
Thanks for your reply, you gave some ideas into doing some filters in memoQ based on the QA results when searching for segments where the source is equal to the target, which would at least reduce a bit the list of errors.
Thank you so much!
