Hello,
I have been asked by a client to run QA in Xbench against a Trados MultiTerm glossary (also available in Excel). The glossary is structured by concept, so there are loads of entries that have multiple terms within the same field. For example: “primary care provider” and “primary healthcare provider” are both legitimate terms that mean the same thing and so are listed in the glossary in a single entry: “primary care provider|primary healthcare provider”.
What I’m finding is that Xbench does not recognise these as separate entities; it doesn’t seem to “understand” that the term could be either “primary care provider” OR “primary healthcare provider”. As a result, it’s not flagging certain cases where the translation is incorrect because it’s not identifying the term in the source or it’s flagging false positives in the translation because it expects the correct translation to include BOTH terms (when it only needs to include one).
It’s a big glossary, so it’s not really feasible for me to manually adapt this into a Checklist where I can use regular expressions or the PowerSearch function.
Does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks,
Gemma
